On early 19th century mount, with collector’s blind stamp lower right. Inscribed on the mount “Chipard.del.”.

Written biographical sources about Chipart are scarce. It is however known that he sporadically worked as a painter of theatrical scenery at the Royal Danish Theatre, Copenhagen between c.1794-1825.
